About This Offering
Wheel throwing is the offering our makers talk about most. It is immersive, surprisingly meditative, and endlessly satisfying - even when things do not go perfectly to plan. Over three hours your instructor will guide you from your very first attempt at centering right through to shaping a finished form you can take home glazed and fired. This is where most of our makers fall completely in love with pottery.

Maker Reviews
I had seen wheel throwing all over Instagram and always assumed it was one of those things that looked easy but was actually impossibly hard. And honestly — it is hard. But Sarah broke it down into such clear steps that by the time I got to the pulling stage it had started to feel almost natural. I made two pieces and they are both now glazed and sitting on my windowsill. One of the best afternoons I have had in a long time.

Wheel Throwing
I booked this as something different to do on a Saturday and ended up staying an extra twenty minutes because I did not want to stop. There is something genuinely addictive about the wheel — the moment the clay starts to respond to your hands is unlike anything I have experienced. Sarah guided us brilliantly. My bowl came back glazed last week and I have already booked the four week course.

Wheel Throwing
I came with absolutely no pottery experience and left three hours later having made something I was genuinely proud of. The centering part is hard — Sarah warned us it would be — but she was right there with her hands guiding mine until I found it. The whole session was meditative in a way I was not expecting. I completely forgot about everything else going on in my life for three full hours. That alone is worth the price.
