Maker Reviews

I came to this session expecting something structured and left having made three completely different pieces — a pinch pot bowl, a coiled vase, and a small slab tray. All three are now on my mantelpiece. The freedom in this session is unlike anything I expected from a pottery class. Sarah gave us the tools and then completely stepped back and let us create. I have not felt that creatively liberated in years.

Hand Building

I tried wheel throwing first and struggled with the centering. Hand building felt completely different - approachable, intuitive, and genuinely fun from the very first minute. I ended up making a coiled vase that I am genuinely proud of. The texture work at the end was my favourite part. Sarah showed us three different ways to add surface detail and I used all of them.

Hand Building

I booked this as a birthday activity with two friends and it was the best decision. All three of us made completely different things - mine was a small coiled pot, one friend made a slab box, the other did a pinch pot series. We were all in our own little world for two and a half hours. The session felt like meditation with a creative outcome. Already planning to come back for the evening relax session.
